Eligibility: OfficePools “UEFA EUROS 2024” (the “Pick’em Contest”) is open to legal residents of Canada who are eighteen (18) years of age or older, except that you must be nineteen (19) years of age or older if you live in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, PEI, Saskatchewan or Yukon; and legal residents of the United States (excluding all U.S. territories, including but not limited to Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older. Sponsor (as defined below), its subsidiaries and affiliates, and any other companies or agencies associated with this Contest are collectively referred to herein as the “Contest Entities.” Employees of the Contest Entities and their immediate family members (defined as parents, parents-in-law, children, siblings and spouse (including common law), regardless of where they reside) are not eligible to enter the Contest or win Contest prizes. Any other persons with whom such employees are domiciled are also not eligible to enter the Contest or win Contest prizes. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
Tournament: As used herein, “Tournament” means the 30 days of soccer put on by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations). The 24 teams are divided into six four-team groups in the Group Stage. Each group plays a round-robin tournament, in which each team is scheduled for three matches against other teams in the same group. This means that a total of six matches are played within a group. The last round of matches of each group is scheduled at the same time to preserve fairness among all four teams—group winners, runners-up and the best four third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16. Points are used to rank the teams within a group.
The Knockout Stage is a single-elimination tournament in which teams play each other in one-off matches, with extra time and penalty shootouts used to decide the winner if necessary. It begins with the Round of 16 (or the second round), in which the winner of each group plays against the runner-up of another group. This is followed by the Quarter-Finals, the Semi-Finals, the third-place match (contested by the losing semi-finalists), and the Final.
